Elvis lives . . . Elvis Cole, that is, the hottest, hippest L.A. gumshoe detective from award-winning author Robert Crais. In a roller-coaster of excitement and mystery, a dirty cop's girlfriend hires Cole to get the goods on the cop. However, the cop swears he's clean--merely cheating on the girlfriend. Crais's smart-mouthing detective rivals the best in the genre.

Not my favorite thus far but still a decent read. I like the Cole/Pike dynamic and the story lines that include them both is when the read is at its best. What drags it down, though, are the page length descriptions of offices, scenery, neighborhoods, homes, etc. that are mostly irrelevant to the story itself. Feels more like "filler" to me. Also, his attempts to make Cole quick witted and funny do wear on the read after a while. Boring and who cares?? That being just IMHO.

usual American chitty chitty bang bang quick read. If you like that genre, you will probably like it. If not, you won't

Another winner, Cole is another version of Bosch on the LA cop literary scene, both are worthwhile.

Starts a little slow, but picks up speed and finishes good.
