I absolutely love Dr. Seuss so it pains me to give a low review on one of his books. But the first thing I noticed is how muddy the colors of the illustrations are. Part of the concept of this book is to teach colors, but when the colors blend into each other it is no longer as easy to tell what color is on each page. The illustrations are not terribly interesting either. As someone who associates feelings with color, I like the concept of this book, but feel it is way over the heads of preschool children. And why must black and brown be the sad and angry colors? I feel that Dr. Seuss did not deliver on this book.
