The Liveship Traders trilogy has to be one of the most affecting and engrossing stories in modern fantasy and I'm sad to see it go. Whereas the first two volumes were, to my mind, flawless, Ship of Destiny finished just shy of all-time greatness due to an ending that felt a tad rushed and under-baked. The thrill ride leading up to this novel's denouement is as gripping as anything else that precedes it, and the convergence of characters we've come to know intimately feels satisfying and well fleshed out, but I would have loved to see more of what occurred between the climax of the novel and the ending, as some characters' stories just seem to taper off. Overall, though, this was an incredibly enjoyable read and a strong, if imperfect, final act.
